Sketches

These are some sketches for Finn. The top sheet is of various action poses with various weapons. The ones to the left are Finn at home. On his phone and at his desk working. I also tried a few different outfits, but I have decided to keep him in the adventure outfit. There are quite a few weapons that I would like to look at in more detail such as the shield, Finns grapple gun, Harrisons weapon and Merri's dimension glasses. The symbol in the top corner is the symbol for twelfth strike. Its a hourglass and infinity symbol whilst also resembling Yin and Yang (balance) - its relevant to the story.

Character design

Here are a range of facial expressions for Finn. I closely look at prince canary's art for reference and using my notes- this is the result. It took a few attempts to get the mouth right and understand what shape it would make for that expression but i learned a few things:
-
dont add to much detail to the mouth, keep it much more simple compared to the rest of the features.
-
eyebrows and eyelids are very important!
-
make them more expressive than in real life

Here is the finished design for Finn. I made a few adjustments to his outfit (added in collars, knee pads, various details...) I merged all the styles I have learned lately and I did my best with the lighting. The background version is Finn stood in the rain looking up at the skywhales on his way back home.
Next I plan to jump back into environmental art and think about the places in my story. I am going to use my env. artists from before.
